    FIRS shuts more firms over N368m tax evasion

    In a move to recoup over $1 trillion in unpaid taxes by oil multinationals, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and its Joint Ventures partners, the Federal Government has begun a tax audit of the corporation and international oil companies (IOCs).

    Lagos seals 18 hotels and event centres over N91m tax evasion

    Men of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) have closed 18 hotels, restaurants and event centers for failing to pay their taxes under the Hotel Occupancy and Restaurant Consumption Laws of Lagos State, 2009.

    The hotels and restaurants were said to owe the state a cumulative sum of over N91 million.
