    Makarfi faction of PDP to challenge Ondo elections at tribunal

    Senator Ahmed Makarfi faction of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has resolved to challenge the outcome of the Saturday’s Ondo State governorship election at the tribunal.

    The party in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Dayo Adeyeye, said this in Abuja on Monday.

    Adeyeye said that the faction had instructed its candidate in the election, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, to be joined by the state chapter of the party for the legal battle.

    The Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, sitting in Abuja, has fixed October 5 to deliver ruling on the fresh motion seeking to suspend hearing on the 16-count criminal charge pending against the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

    The Federal Government had alleged that Saraki made false/anticipatory declaration of assets, operated foreign accounts while in office as Kwara State governor between 2003 and 2011, as well as collected governorship salary four years after his tenure had elapsed.

    Timipre Sylva of APC loses to Dickson at Bayelsa election petition tribunal

    According to reports, the Bayelsa governorship election tribunal sitting in Abuja has upheld the election of Seriake Dickson, incumbent governor of Bayelsa state.

    Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had challenged the victory of Dickson after losing the governorship election last year.
