Nigeria is ranked fourth out of 24 countries with high burden of Tuberculosis in the world and the first in Africa. Dr. Gidado Mustapha, the Country Director, Challenge TB/KNCV, made this known while briefing newsmen in Abuja on Thursday.
According to Mustapha, as of 2015, based on the global WHO TB report, Nigeria had over 570,000 patients living with TB, out of which about 90,340 were on treatment.

According to reports, no fewer than 2,000 tuberculosis patients are receiving treatment at various Directly Observed Therapy Centres in Anambra State. The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joe Akabuike, said this in a press briefing in his office in Awka on Monday.
