The Osun Government said no fewer than 45,000 unemployed youths benefited from the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (OYES) from 2010 to date.
The state’s Director of Bureau of Social Services, Mr Femi Ifaturoti, announced this to NAN on Monday in Abuja.
Ifaturoti said that OYES was a revolving two-year volunteers scheme aimed at addressing unemployment in the state.

Mrs Aisha Buhari, Wife of the President, has appealed to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), not to renege on its campaign promise of paying N5,000 to 25 million unemployed Nigerians.

Report gathered that the Nigerian Senate on Wednesday rejected motion for the payment of N5,000 monthly allowance to unemployed youths in the country.
The motion was sponsored by Senator Philip Aduda (PDP FCT) but was greeted with shouts of ‘’no, no’’ when he tried to expatiate on it.
