    Fresh students begin registration in Unilag

    New students whose names appeared on the 2016/2017 merit admission list of the University of Lagos are to begin their registration exercise.

    Mr Toyin Adebule, Deputy Registrar (Information) of the university, told newsmen on Tuesday that the registration is holding at the institution’s multipurpose hall.

    Adebule said the registration, which began on Monday Nov. 21, would end on Friday, Dec. 2., adding that candidates should strictly follow the registration procedures.

    Lecturers of the University of Lagos on Wednesday complied with the directive of the Academic Staff Union of Universities to its members nationwide to begin a one-week warning strike.

    A News Agency of Nigeria correspondent who visited the university campus reports that students were found milling around and idling away, as lecturers stayed away from classes.

    UNILAG expels 125, rusticates 198 students

    Authorities of the University of Lagos have expelled 125 students and rusticated 198 others for various offences, including examination malpractices during last academic session.

    The lists of the affected students were published on the university’s website on Sunday.

    The institution’s Deputy Registrar (Information), Mr. Toyin Adebule, confirmed the expulsion and estimation to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Sunday,

    UNILAG expels 125 students, suspends 73 for misconduct

    It was gathered that the University of Lagos has expelled 125 students and suspended 73 students for acts related to academic misconduct and forgery of results.

     

    The names of the affected students were published on the university’s website, UNILAG .edu.ng. Those suspended had penalties ranging from two to four semesters.

    UNILAG Student That Was Rusticated Over Facebook Post Have Been Arrested

    Management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has trailed and arrested Adeyeye Olorunfemi; a vocal student recently victimized over Facebook post accusing the management of incompetence.

    Adeyeye’s arrest follows his rustication over a critical article he posted to his Facebook wall on the poor handling of management affairs in the institution under headship of its current Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rahman Bello.
