    Obla sues EFCC for N1bn over unlawful detention

    Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Obla, has filed a N1 billion fundamental rights enforcement suit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

    Obla was detained by the EFCC for allegedly offering a N5 million gratification to Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia.

    Edo former militant, brother remanded for unlawful possession of firearms

    An Evbuoriaria Magistrates’ Court in Benin, Edo State, has ordered that an ex-militant, identified as General Pere Ejune, and one Trim Ade, be remanded in prison custody for allegedly being in possession of firearms.

    Ejune, 45, and Ade, 32, had been paraded by Commissioner of Police, Fimihan Adeoye, on Wednesday, after they were arrested and a double-barrel gun, a cut-to-size double-barrel gun and 18 live cartridges allegedly recovered from them.
