    President Buhari orders ban of unqualified and unregistered teachers from classrooms – TRCN

    President Muhammadu Buhari and Ministers of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu and Prof. Anthony Anwukah, have agreed to ban unqualified and unregistered teachers from classrooms, Registrar, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Prof. Josiah Ajiboye has said.

    He also said the Federal Government would not employ teachers without registration certificates and licenses from the TRCN under the 500, 000 teachers’ scheme.

    Patience Jonathan’s NGO unregistered – SERAP

    It was gathered that the Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), known as Union of Niger Delta Youth Organization for Equity, Justice and Good Governance, the surrogate fighter for Mrs Patience Jonathan, is unregistered and ‘unknown in law’.

    Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), which the group has sued on behalf of its principal, made the startling disclosure in its preliminary objection to the suit.

    Lagos to shut 10, 427 unregistered private schools

    According to reports, the Lagos State Government Wednesday disclosed that no fewer than 10,427 private schools were operating in different parts of the state without approval, warning that it would shut them if they failed to comply.

    The state government also revealed that of the 15,000 private schools currently operating in the state, only 4,573 complied with the state’s school standard practice and other stipulated regulations.

    NCC warns against unregistered SIM cards

    It was gathered that the Nigerian Communications Commissions (NCC) has warned against the use of unregistered sim cards by Nigerians saying the organisation was now poised to enforce the law making the practice illegal.
