    Malema join the call for Robert Mugabe to step down

    Although the EFF loves Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, it’s time for the long-serving president to go, its leader Julius Malema says.

    “We love Robert Mugabe for who he is, although we accept it’s time for him to step down,” Malema told crowds gathered in Soweto on Wednesday.

    Zimbabwean Rio Olympic football team offered $5 for transport

    Information coming through from Zimbabwe is that the Rio Olympic Women’s national team players were offered $5 dollars for transport, after landing at Harare International Airport.

    News Day website has it that one of the players, who commented on condition of anonymity, revealed that the money given to them was an insult.

    The player revealed that an official from the Zimbabwean Olympic Committee known as ‘Chiedza’ offered them $5 for transport to go to their respective homes.

    Zimbabwean President Rob­ert Mugabe plans to celebrate his 91st birthday with a party in the resort town of Victoria Falls, the ruling party’s youth league an­nounced on Thursday.
