The Blues had been unimpressive in previous ‘big’ fixtures against Liverpool and Arsenal but blew Jose Mourinho’s team away on the Portuguese’s return to his former club.

Antonio Conte has made a notable formation switch since a heavy 3-0 loss to The Gunners, shifting to a 3-4-3 formation.

Since the tactical change, which was used first against Hull, Chelsea are yet to concede in the Premier League and have scored nine goals in three matches.

But who have been the big beneficiaries of the new system?

If I’d have told you at the start of the season that the 25-year-old would become a regular under Conte, you would have expressed plenty of doubts. If I’d have told you it was in a wing-back role, you would have laughed in my face.

But Moses’ form is no laughing matter. He has taken to his new role like a duck to water and his power and general athleticism allow him to get up and down the pitch with consummate ease.

It was a genuine masterstroke from Conte to field him on the right-hand side of midfield/defence and we can expect to see plenty more of him in the coming weeks.

If he maintains this form, don’t be surprised to see him make the Premier League team of the season.

A couple of weeks ago, Cahill’s place looked in severe jeopardy both at club and international level.

But his recent form suggests there’s life in him yet!

Cahill looks far more secure working in a three-man defence and the back-three of David Luiz, Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta is looking incredibly sturdy.

Should it continue, John Terry won’t get much of a look in.

The Belgian is loving life in his free role on the left-hand side of the front three and the protection provided by Marcos Alonso behind him.

Hazard has never provided much cover defensively but this system allows him to focus on attacking and he was a constant thorn in United’s side over the weekend.

His quick, direct link-up play with Diego Costa and Pedro Rodriguez has turned Chelsea into a force on the counter-attack and players like Willian and Oscar will have to work hard to earn their places back.
