The Hammers went ahead after only two minutes through Diafra Sakho before Zlatan Ibrahimovic hit back in the 21st-minute, but the Red Devils couldn’t get that all-important winner.

The draw marked the first time since February 1990 that United have failed to win four league games in a row at Old Trafford.

Herrera, who has been one of the Red Devils’ better players this season, is unsure what United have to do to start converting draws into more wins.

“Another game the same,” Herrera said. “We control the game completely from the kick-off. They score a very lucky goal and then we control and create chances.

“Their keeper was the best one more time. That happened against Stoke, Burnley and Arsenal. We don’t know what we have to do to win a game.

“We have more possession than the opponents. I don’t know, honestly.

“I have had a run like this but not playing good. The way we are playing we are controlling the whole game from the kick-off.

“Football is about scoring goals and finishing and we are not doing that right. It is true.”
