The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted partly cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Wednesday.
The prediction was made in the Weather Outlook by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Tuesday.
It added that isolated thundery activities would prevail over Lokoja and Makurdi during with day and night temperatures of 30 to 36 degrees Celsius and 13 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that the southern states will experience cloudy to partly cloudy morning with day and Night temperature of 32 to 35 degrees Celsius and 21 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
It also predicted isolated thunderstorms over high ground areas of Oshogbo, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Enugu and Awka as well as coastal cities of Lagos, Port Harcourt, Calabar and Eket during evening and night hours.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience sunny and hazy conditions in good horizontal visibility over Katsina, Kano, Sokoto, Maiduguri and Nguru during the forecast period.
NiMet predicted: “The region will also have day and night time temperatures of 35 to 39 degrees Celsius and 15 to 22 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Sunny and hazy conditions is anticipated over the northern cities, partly cloudy over central areas and possibilities of localized thunderstorms over the southern cities in the next 24 hours.”
